Sponsors confirmed for inaugural Youth Summit

Take 3 for the Sea are proud to welcome Klean Kanteen and Fjällräven as the official sponsors of this year’s Youth Summit.

The inaugural Take 3 Youth Summit will take place at the Taronga Institute of Science & Learning at Taronga Zoo Sydney on June 7 and 8 – to coincide with World Oceans Day – with two action-packed days planned for 200 or more student leaders from 40 schools around New South Wales.

As part of the day the students will now also receive one of Fjällräven’s signature Kånken backpacks and a stainless-steel water bottle from Klean Kanteen, courtesy of both brands.

Hailing from the small town of Örnsköldsvik in Sweden, Fjällräven is an outdoor clothing and equipment company committed to making nature more accessible, focused on simplicity and practicality with the utmost respect for the environment. Crafting products for a lifetime of memories.

Klean Kanteen produced the first stainless steel, BPA-free, reusable water bottle in 2004 as a non-toxic solution to single-use plastic water bottles. As a certified B Corp, Klean canteen creates the highest quality reusable products, with a mission to keep single-use waste from trashing the world.

Take 3 for the Sea CEO Sarah Beard said: “We are delighted to welcome Klean Kanteen and Fjällräven to the Take 3 family and are proud they have chosen to support our inaugural Youth Summit.

“Both brands are passionate about the environment and sustainability and are great examples for the young people and future leaders attending the Youth Summit.

“We look forward to a long and productive partnership with both brands as we continue our journey to take action and educate, while also raising awareness of our global movement inspiring change.”

During the Youth Summit, participants will hear from selected guests and young leaders in the field of conservation and walk away with Community Action Projects developed at the summit workshops to engage their school communities in plastic pollution education, ensuring the legacy of the Summit lives on beyond June.

The students in attendance have already completed a Take 3 school incursion or excursion funded by local government supporters. Selected rural and regional students attending will have completed the Take 3’s Youth Leadership program, funded by our education partners SC Johnson.

Among our core beliefs is finding and supporting the next generation of environmentalists and by taking part in the Take 3 Youth Summit at Taronga Zoo all participants will be recognised as a Take 3 Youth Leader.
