COOL.ORG ONLINE RESOURCES

Want a taste of Take 3 for the Sea Resources without signing up to the Ocean Classroom Initiative?

Download our FREE online resources that explore ocean ecosystems, the global plastic pollution crisis and the power of individual action. Designed for delivery by teachers, the program sees students explore and strengthen their personal connections to the ocean.

The resources feature six visually-compelling short films that vividly illustrate the content, offering an inspiring exploration of key themes within Take 3 for the Sea’s education curricula. These themes include connection, the natural systems of the ocean, human impacts on marine environments, and solutions at individual, local, and global levels. Additionally, the program provides twelve meticulously-crafted lesson plans, developed in collaboration with Cool.org’s expert team, aligning seamlessly with the Australian school curriculum and supporting the cross-curriculum priorities: Sustainability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.

UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Take 3 for the Sea is proud to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and do our part to build a better world. The SDGs are a universal call to action. The 17 interlinked goals were designed by the United Nations to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.” Our schools program aligns with these SDGs:

In support of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education – Take 3 for the Sea’s program is dedicated to providing inclusive and equitable educational experiences, empowering learners with the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and fostering a global mindset among students and educators alike.

Take 3 for the Sea’s program aligns seamlessly with Sustainable Development Goal 14 – Life below Water – by fostering ocean literacy, promoting responsible consumption and empowering educators and students to actively contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources for a healthier, more resilient planet.

Enabling progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production – Take 3 for the Sea’s program encourages mindful consumption habits and environmental responsibility, equipping educators and students with the tools to reduce waste, make sustainable choices, and contribute to a more sustainable and balanced world.

In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals – Take 3 for the Sea’s program actively promotes collaboration and partnerships among educators, communities, and organisation to amplify the impact of ocean conservation initiatives, working collectively towards a sustainable and resilient future for our planet.
