Take 3 volunteers celebrated as part of National Volunteer Week

Take 3 staff and volunteers came together on Wednesday for an evening of celebration as part of National Volunteer Week.

Put simply, Take 3 could not achieve everything we do without our legion of volunteers who give up their valuable time to support our clean ups, education workshops, research and much more.

They truly are the lifeblood of our organisation, so it was fitting to celebrate the crucial role they play in helping us achieve our goals.

Take 3 CEO Sarah Beard said: “The evening was about a very heartfelt thank you to our volunteers. Take 3 could not function without them and we certainly would not be the organisation we are without the countless hours, energy, passion, and dedication that all our volunteers put in.”

Among our key volunteers is Lisa Vehrenkamp, who has been supporting Take 3 since August 2020 but is returning to her native USA later this month.

Lisa has been instrumental in much of what Take 3 has achieved in the past year, directly supporting Sarah and our co-founders, while also playing a key role in the recent CEO Clean-Up and the development of our corporate partnerships.

Talking about Lisa and every volunteer who make up the Take 3 family, Sarah added: “We have volunteers who have been with us for a long time, but also a group of new volunteers and each and every one of them is an extraordinary person who we are incredibly privileged to have, and this celebration is our way of saying thank you.

“I have to make a special mention of Lisa. She is a volunteer and is shortly heading back to the States where she will continue helping Take 3 but for the last nine months, she has been incredibly important.

“Lisa has given so much time to Take 3 because she believes in what we do, she has an incredible professional career and has been so important to me personally and has given countless hours to the organisation.

“We have some great things coming up and I am looking forward to the role our volunteers will play in the future of Take 3. Thank you.”
