It’s going to be BIG! The Big Bondi Beach Clean-Up is coming this March
Take 3 is hosting the Big Bondi Beach Clean-Up on Saturday 12 March, 2022, as part of the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival.
All individuals, groups, businesses, organisations, schools and surf clubs are invited to demonstrate their love of the sea and commitment to cleaner oceans by joining the clean-up. Participating organisations can display their banner or flag – a great way to publicise their organisation and attract new members.
Registration is free, and will open at 9:30 am outside the Bondi Bathers SLSC. The clean-up will take place from 10am – 11am. Participants are encouraged to preregister here to save time on the day.

Staff and volunteers from Take 3 will be there to ensure the event goes smoothly. They will provide gloves, tongs and bags, and will direct participants to ensure as much of the beach is cleaned up as possible.
After the clean-up Take 3 will set up a dedicated ‘Education Station’ where the rubbish collected will be sorted and showcased, with powerful information about litter, recycling and the circular economy.
“We always sort, count and record the rubbish we pick up during our beach clean-ups,’ said Janet Aitchison of Take 3. “We enter the data into the National Marine Debris Database where it is used by researchers and policy makers to increase their understanding of the nature and extent of ocean pollution so they can explore ways to stop it at source. This collection of data provides a perfect opportunity for local community members to participate in an important citizen science activity.”
