Bondi Sands to support Take 3 this Earth Month

Take 3 for the Sea are delighted to be celebrating Earth Month by partnering with self-tanning brand Bondi Sands.

Bondi Sands are dedicated to taking care of their customers and our environment. This World Earth Month they are celebrating what they have already achieved in the way of sustainability, while educating their community on what we can do collectively to continue to care for our planet.

As part of the Bondi Sands sustainability commitment, $3 AUD from every Bondi Sands online transaction from April 12 to 30 2021 will go directly to Take 3, directly supporting our mission to protect oceans and reduce plastic pollution through education and action.

“As Bondi Sands grows, so does our responsibility to our environment,” said Bondi Sands co-founder Blair James. “From a public perspective sustainability may feel like a new direction for our brand, yet this is something that has always been a priority for us.

“Whether that be through our Vegan & Cruelty Free formulations, Reef Friendly Suncare or our move away from using virgin plastics in product packaging. Sustainability has and continues to be a major driver for the future of our brand.

“Aligning with our own brand values of simplicity, accessibility and community, we are very excited to partner with Take 3 for the Sea and support their efforts in educating our communities on the impact of plastic pollution.

“Their message is simple: take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or anywhere and you have made a difference. As a brand with a global community, we wish to make sustainability inclusive, simplistic and authentic and are proud to partner with a non-profit organisation making this positive change.”

Bondi Sands are committed to sustainability with a promise to make all packaging recyclable by 2025

For more than a decade Take 3 has been committed to reducing global plastic pollution through education that inspires participation, international campaigns and clean ups.

This work enables us to remove 10 million pieces of rubbish from our oceans and waterways annually, while to date we have educated more than 500,000 young people on the importance of ocean conservation.

Take 3 CEO Sarah Beard said: “We need to stop treating our ocean as a rubbish dump and start treating it as the life-force of our planet. It is estimated that there is 150 million metric tons of plastic currently in our marine environments. We need to act now, to stop this toxic tide.

“At Take 3 we recognise the need to build strategic partnerships, where shared values and goals can lead to significant impact. Bondi Sands have shown they are committed to sustainability and recognise we are all a part of our planet’s ecosystem and must all play a role in its protection.

“We are so grateful to Bondi Sands for their generosity and the money raised will play a significant role in enabling us to continue educating the next generation and removing litter and plastic pollution which continues to suffocate our oceans.”
