TAKE 3 PARTNERS WITH AVEDA AUSTRALIA TO STOP PLASTIC POLLUTION

Take 3 for the Sea is delighted to be partnering with global eco-conscious hair care brand AVEDA for a nationwide campaign to clean up our beaches and raise valuable funds to support our ongoing work.

From March 2021, AVEDA Teams, salons and guests will raise awareness to fundraise $100,000 during the STOP Ocean Plastic Pollution Fundraiser and help Take 3 work with education, social and community groups nationwide to remove 1.5 million pieces of rubbish from our environment.

With a nationwide clean-up day, held on the 7th of March AVEDA staff and customers are invited to start an individual fundraiser page and sign up to join one of the five clean-up events scheduled in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth with all donations directly supporting Take 3’s efforts to remove rubbish through community and corporate clean-ups and through school education program.

By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish and with an estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic entering the ocean every year, raising awareness and forming this partnership is more important than ever.

Take 3 CEO Sarah Beard said: “At Take 3 we recognise the need to build strategic partnerships, where shared values and goals can lead to significant impact. Aveda are the perfect example of this. An organisation who shares our values and recognise we are all a part of our planet’s ecosystem and must all play a role in its protection.

“We are so grateful to Aveda for their environmental leadership and joining us in our mission to reduce the impacts of plastic pollution and waste in the ocean and broader environment. Take 3 for the Sea, welcome Aveda in joining us and being part of the solution to plastic pollution.”

AVEDA Brand General Manager Clint Piper said: “At Aveda we are committed to bettering the world we live in. Not just in the beauty space, but in community and environment.

“Through these meaningful partnerships with local charities and brands, we are creating movement of people who are connected to the planet. With that said, we are excited to announce the official partnership between Aveda Australia and Take 3 for the Sea kicking off in March 2021.”

The newly-formed partnership is of huge significance with AVEDA’s mission statement to ‘care for the world we live in’ perfectly aligned with Take 3’s commitment to stopping and solving plastic pollution.

Continuing to support Take 3’s mission to protect oceans and reduce plastic pollution, Aveda have also designed a trio of scrunchies made sustainably from post-consumer recycled plastics, 100% RPET that will be available online and at point of sale at Aveda salons nationwide.

Since 1999, Aveda has made incredible impact’s through annual Earth Month campaigns, raising over $60 million for environmental causes around the world. Sustainability is deeply rooted in Aveda’s DNA, and preserving and protecting water resources like our ocean have been fundamental to the brand for decades.
