Take 3 for the Sea appoints new CEO
Take 3 for the Sea’s Board of Directors has appointed Jenny-Lee Scharnboeck as the organisation’s new CEO.
Devastated by the impact of plastic and litter on our beautiful coastlines Jenny-Lee joined the Take 3 team in 2018 to help shift the tide on litter and plastic pollution. Most recently she held the position of Head of Business Development – Partnerships, Fundraising & Grants. In this role Jenny-Lee nurtured and grew Take 3 Partnerships, enticing businesses and industries to collaborate with Take 3 to create greater impact and ensure healthy oceans and wildlife into the future.
Jenny-Lee brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Take 3 for the Sea, having had a 30-year career in business management and the tourism sector, which includes a decade as Tourism Manager in local government. Her passion for environmental conservation saw Jenny-Lee working for NSW National parks, YHA of NSW, and heading up the marketing and tourism development team for the Kingdom of Tonga.
It is from this background that Jenny-Lee drew inspiration for the development of Take 3’s award winning Ground Swell program – bringing tourism businesses onboard to help reduce and eliminate litter and waste.
On her appointment as CEO, Jenny-Lee said “I am committed to expanding Take 3 for the Sea’s reach and impact on a global scale. By forging partnerships with like-minded organisations, governments and communities around the world, working together we can amplify the Take 3 message and drive meaningful change.”
Outgoing Board Chair Amy Somes said, “Jenny-Lee has overseen the successful growth in our corporate sponsorships and developed many of our key stakeholder relationships. She is passionate about the organisation and its mission to reduce the impact of plastic pollution. I have every confidence she will continue to drive the Take 3 vision forward.”
Jenny-Lee takes over from Jacquie Riddell who left the organisation in mid-May. The Board of Directors would like to thank Jacquie for her leadership and contribution to Take 3 for the Sea during her tenure.
