Celebrating our Impact: We’ve smashed our 2025 Goals Early!
Ever since Take 3 for the Sea started 15 years ago, we’ve been keeping track of everything our supporters do to help rid the world of plastic pollution. We count the number of students who come to our school incursions or who use our educational resources. We count and sort every piece of rubbish picked up during our beach clean-ups. We calculate how much rubbish our supporters around the world are picking up. We keep a tally of all the people who come to our events and take part in our activities, and we add up all the likes, follows and shares we get on social media.
Keeping track of all this information over 15 years is truly a labour of love but it’s worth it because without this data, we wouldn’t know if everyone’s hard work was worthwhile, But, believe you me, it is worthwhile because we’ve smashed our 2025 goals a year early!

Social Media Successes
We use social media to spread the Take 3 message far and wide, inspiring people to make simple lifestyle changes, like taking 3 pieces of rubbish whenever they leave the beach, refusing plastic water bottles or using a keep cup instead of a disposable coffee cup.
The more our social media posts are shared, the more people we’re reaching with the Take 3 message. We had some standout social media posts in FY24, shared by millions of people around the globe. Here is our most popular post – were you one of the millions of people who liked and shared it?
Our new Ambassadors are spreading the Take 3 message too!
This year we welcomed three new Take 3 Ambassadors – people with a public profile who take it upon themselves to spread the Take 3 message to their followers and supporters. Look out for them in your social feeds, or, if you’re lucky, meet them in person at a Take for the Sea event!
